Job description
We are looking for someone with a desire to support our Academy in ensuring our pupils reach their potential. You will be dynamic, resilient and motivated with a willingness to uphold our high expectations to secure 'Outstanding Achievement for All'.
We are seeking to appoint a confident and professional Learning Mentor to join an outstanding special school for pupils aged 5-12 who present predominantly with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Duties will include: supporting pupils' learning through in-class assistance, group work, 1:1 intervention and a range of closing the gap interventions for core and foundation subjects, SEN, therapeutic needs and cover for classes/groups/1:1's.
The role of Learning Mentor is to support an inclusive and high-quality learning environment for our pupils, using a solution focused, pupil-centred and consistent approach. As a Learning Mentor you will be working with all colleagues and key stakeholders to ensure and promote excellent pupil-centred practice, within our Respectful, Safe and Resilient vision. The successful candidate will have a flexible approach, be willing to gain knowledge and experience of working with children in KS1-2 who have social, emotional and mental health difficulties. The post requires someone who is highly resilient, able to work well as a member of a successful team and someone who has highly developed interpersonal skills and a good sense of humour.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
