Position Summary:
The Statutory Controller Horsham will own the financial accounting and statutory reporting function within CTD Horsham. This role will implement and monitor internal controls and compliance with internal and external guidelines and standards to support accurate and timely financial accounting of CTD Horsham.
This role will work closely with Divisional Controllership, align with Corporate Accounting policies and fully engage with the EMEA FP&A team. The position holder will be a key member of the CTD EMEA controllership team.
Delivery of the objectives will be achieved through deployment and introduction of working practices and innovative, value adding finance processes & tools. These activities will be carried out in accordance with current USGAAP, statutory, company financial standards as well as our 4i Values.
Success will be proven through improved processes, compliance with financial regulations and controls, accurate and timely period end financial closes, providing meaningful analysis towards achieving growth & profitability targets and improving our services for our customers, our company and ultimately the patients we serve.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that the Horsham entities’ accounting is performed as stated in company procedures, financial close schedules and in accordance with US GAAP, SOX and statutory laws.
- Analytical review of the monthly financial results of Horsham with regards to quality and compliance of those results and processes.
- Technical accounting research of complex issues to ensure proper accounting treatment and compliance with US GAAP, company policies and statutory regulations.
- Review and improve the quality of accounting activities and processes such as reconciliations and journal entries, ensure accounting activities are well supported, documented and audit ready.
- Actively support the Finance and Accounting team during month-ends on complex accounting treatments as defined in the close schedules and check lists to ensure accuracy, timeliness, consistency and completeness of the financial results.
- Assist with the implementation of new operation and financial software within Horsham.
- Lead direct and indirect tax compliance and relationship with corporate tax teams as well as local authorities.
- Manage site compliance with treasury and tax related relationships with corporate teams and external partners.
- Support all internal and external audits .
- Prepare UK statutory accounts for review by the Senior Manager Accounting and Sr Finance Director.
- Identify and drive improvement initiatives to ensure enough support for changing business dynamics; full accountability to understand needs, development of implementation plans and the corresponding execution.
- Provide advice and guidance to business on finance related matters, ensuring consistency and compliance with Finance policies and standards.
- Provide guidance and support to the Sr Manager Accounting in Basel, sharing knowledge and expertise.
- Exhibits personal responsibility/accountability and open communications.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
- Candidate will show strength in the following areas: technical accounting knowledge, internal control, indirect tax knowledge, and financial reporting.

- Strong business and industry knowledge, able to make logical assumptions, draw conclusions from laws and regulations and optimally link processes and results.

- Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required. The ideal candidate will have the ability to acquire operational consensus with easy-to-understand analysis and presentations and communicate across all levels.

- Excellent skills with MS Excel, Power BI and MS PowerPoint are required; Further IT skills such as Data Warehouse, Oracle, COGNOS, and Visual Basic.
Education/ Experience:
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting/Qualified Accountant with significant post qualification experience. CIMA/ACCA/ACA
- Advanced Qualification Preferred (MBA, or MS)
- Has a strong background as a Statutory Controller
