Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Undertake study to develop a good working knowledge and thereafter keep up to date with legislation and case law.
- Support qualified lawyers in advising clients on the law, policy, practice and procedure relating as required.
- Carry out high quality legal research under the direction of more senior staff including Service managers in support of Council client services and external clients.
- Gain knowledge skills and experience in a minimum of three distinct areas of English law.
- Support members of the respective legal teams through research an analysis and suggest recommendations on the way to proceed based upon research/analysis.
The training you will be getting
- You will study towards the Solicitor Level 7 standard with Northumbria University.
- You will gain a Level 7 Solicitor qualification upon sucessful completion of the apprenticeship.
- Please note that qualification as a Solicitor requires attainment of SQE 1 and SQE 2. SQE1 is gateway competence and SQE2 will form the End point Assessment under IFATEs regulatory aligned EPA policy.
What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship
- We have a successful track record in supporting our apprentices to secure permanent employment, with 3 in 4 apprentices securing a further role with us.
