Job Description

With our ongoing Expansion and Elevation Strategy, we are currently seeking a Digital Platform Security Engineer to join our Digital Platform Security Team. With the platform protecting over close to 50 websites alongside a near 4Bn annual turnover, ensuring these sites are secure as well as running optimally is our upmost importance. Our growing team of engineers is looking for the perfect colleague to help with the continuing growth as well as our technology transformation journey.   

The role involves; 

• Administering Security appliances which helps secure our users and/or our ecommerce platforms 
• Performing firmware and software upgrades and security patching on security appliances.  
• Ensuring the controls and posture we enforce and being upheld and acted upon. 
• Create and Update Security related documentation and Policy, Process, Procedure Guides.  
• Provide third line support for the existing global network infrastructure.  
• Assisting senior engineers with the delivery of complex and time critical projects 

Communication with clients and colleagues involved in provisioning activities is essential, therefore articulating in a clear written, verbal, or non-verbal manner is important.

This role is available on a hybrid basis, 3 days on-site and 2 days remote, at either our Shirebrook HQ or Manchester Trafford Wharf Office.

Qualifications

Required Certifications and Experience:   

• F5 101 and 201 
• Akamai (Ion and Kona desired) 
• Understanding of Internet based PKI infrastructure (DigiCert, GlobalSign, LetsEncrypt) 
• Basic understanding of Akamai; any of the following – Ion, Kona, Image Manager and EdgeDNS 
• Awareness of external DNS providers – CloudFlare, RackSpace, CSC and Route53 
• Knowledge of F5 LTM and GTM exposure 

Desirable Technical Skills and Experience:  

• Knowledge of networking/OSI model or working towards (e.g. TCP/IP, routing protocols, SSL/TLS, load balancing, proxies, reverse proxies, DNS, caching, BGP) 
• Keeping up to date with OWASP top 10 
• Understanding of bot mitigation is an advantage 
• Experiencing using a SIEM, Splunk desirable but others will be considered. 
• Knowledge of Automation/DevOps tools (eg: APIs, Python, Ansible, PowerShell etc)  
• Cloud Networking (Azure, AWS, GCP)
