Relais & Chateau at Thornbury Castle are seeking a dynamic and driven Events Office Manager to join our professional sales and events team. You will be working in a unique and beautifully restored Castle, creating truly memorable and impressive 5* experiences for our guests.
About Us
Set on 15 acres of beautiful land, Thornbury Castle Hotel is the only Tudor Castle operating as a hotel in England. The Castle has recently completed a multi-million pound refurbishment program bringing back to life the regal grandeur of its past. Located 20 minutes’ drive from Bristol, it offers 27 bedchambers and suites, an award-winning restaurant, bar and two unique meeting and conference spaces.

Job Description
We are looking for a driven, dynamic and experienced event planner. The role will be hotel based, managing the day to day diary, planning of events, proposals and supporting the hotel’s Director of Sales with appointments and FAM trips.
This is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of the hotel’s planned growth over the next couple of years.
- Be the first contact for all wedding and events enquiries.
- Prepare proposals and contracts, check billings, invoices and process payments.
- Use strong attention to detail produce accurate internal function sheets.
- Ability to identify customers’ needs and respond proactively to all of their concerns
- Greet all function organisers and bride for each wedding. Be the point of contact and fully responsible for the ceremony
- Sales driven and ability to optimise every sales opportunity
- Carry out show rounds, organise and attend wedding fairs and internal events to promote the Castle and its unique offerings.
- Meet targets, KPI’s, schedules, follow company policies and procedures, and comply with all health and safety regulations.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of hotel based wedding and events co-ordination.
- Preferably experience with Opera or similar
Additional Information
- Full-time permanent position
- £30-32 per annum, depending on experience
- Additional bonus based on objectives.
- An additional share of service charge (about 4k per year, based on business level)
- Full time – 40 hours per week worked over 5 days and may include weekends. (based on business needs)
- 5 days sick pay after 6 months service
