Job description
You will be joining an award-winning regeneration charity in London making a real difference to the environment and people’s lives. Sounds a bold statement, right? Its true. The project you are working on reaches out to Londoners who are vulnerable and are at risk of being impacted by the increasing energy costs. This covers advice on accessing grants, switching energy suppliers, assessing damp and mould, and reviewing insultation.
You will be responsible for managing the key partners who provide the funding for the project. A funder could be a local authority, the GLA, ESF or a housing association. Each funder has an expectation for what they want achieved with the grants or funding. Usually this is around number of homes visited, impact made, or energy costs saved as an example. You will be responsible for reporting on progress and managing these relationships.
You will be comfortable with numbers as you will be manipulating large data sets, producing financial claims, and monitoring reports. You will also manage one person who delivers energy talks and helps train staff at other organisations around energy efficiency.
Line management experience, or knowledge of the energy sector is not essential. But you must have worked in a role which involves creating reports for funders, ideally within the public sector or charity sector. So, you might have worked as a compliance officer, claims officer, grant officer or contract manager.
