Job description

Hays Senior Finance are partnering with a professional services firm based in Cheltenham who are market leaders in their sector. They are going through a period of sustained upwards trajectory and have doubled in size, both in revenue terms and staff members since 2015.


The Role


This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join their team. Closely supporting and reporting to the CFO, but able to work autonomously. This hands-on role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day financial accounting, accounts payable and cashiering operations of the business. The candidate will be a qualified accountant, ideally having started their career in audit before moving into industry.


We're looking for a confident and motivated individual, with experience and an appetite to deliver transformational change, but take the team with them on that journey. Excellent communication skills are key, and you will be able to effectively liaise with a variety of functions and stakeholders across the organisation.


The ideal candidate will be inquisitive, analytical, innovative, commercially aware and able to see the bigger picture. We're looking for someone with ambition who is proactive and looking for a challenging role.


Responsibilities


* Management and leadership of the team.
* Deliver transformational change to improve efficiencies.
* Financial Reporting.
* Financial Planning and Analysis.
* Treasury Management including foreign exchange risk management.
* Compliance and Audit.
* Budget Management.
* Processes and Controls.


Requirements


* Qualified CCBA with at least 5 years PQE, with up-to-date knowledge of business taxes.
* Experience gained in a leadership role in a professional services environment and in a small to medium-sized environment.
* Track record of delivery of transformational change.
* Proven ability to produce high quality financial and management accounts with insight.
* Able to balance competing priorities.
* Initiate and manage change, challenging the status quo.


This is a full-time, permanent position, involving hybrid working from a base office in Cheltenham.
