The Ports of Dundee & Methil specialise in handling forest products, animal feed, grains, oilseeds, minerals, palletised cargo and a comprehensive range of bulk materials, heavy lifts and off shore oil related equipment.
About The Role
As Engineering Manager you will have responsibility for ensuring that a safe, efficient and cost effective engineering service is provided.
On a day-to-day basis this will see you having over-arching responsibility for management of the engineering team and being the leading authority on maintenance strategies for a large and diverse port-folio of port assets. This will involve being the site lead for electrical infrastructure and having expertise in scoping and management of opex and capex projects to align with business strategy.
Working closely with the Head of Engineering, your key responsibilities will be:
Promoting a positive and safe workplace culture.
Managing all engineering operations safely, efficiently and within timescales and budget.
Lead the Engineering team to deliver the best service possible, ensuring the team has a good blend of skills and experience.
Supporting the operations team on the day-day and look-ahead operations within ports.
Ensuring the Port is operated and maintained safely, in accordance with best industry practice and manufacturers' specifications.
Candidate Requirements
Strong experience in a similar Engineering Management role with the capability to lead, motivate and manage a team.
Ability to prioritise work tasks in an often changing port environment whilst demonstrating a positive attitude and the flexibility to be able to meet these challenges.
Excellent planning, communication and analytical skills.
Ideally educated to degree level.
Flexible approach to your working hours and a willingness to participate in our Supervisory on-call rota.
Full driving licence, valid in the UK.
