About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Head of Portfolio Management to join our team. As a Head of Portfolio Management, you will be responsible for leading the strategic management and oversight of our organization's portfolio of programs and projects, with specific responsibility for program and project governance and assurance. You will provide long-term delivery and project effectiveness, ensuring current and future projects are delivered in line with best practice project management techniques appropriate to the type and scale of projects, and delivering the identified business benefit. You will be responsible for providing project assurance to the executive team and board for the portfolio of projects, which will enable it to meet its operational and strategic objectives.

Within this role you will  be:

• Leading the strategic management and oversight of our organisation's portfolio of programs and projects, with specific responsibility for program and project governance
• Providing long-term delivery and project effectiveness
• Ensuring current and future projects are delivered in line with best practice project management techniques appropriate to the type and scale of projects and delivering the identified business benefit
• Providing project assurance to the executive team and board for the portfolio of projects, which will enable it to meet its operational and strategic objectives
• Supporting the lifecycle of a large portfolio, leading project-level reviews, optimizing standards, identifying areas for improvement, reporting analyses, and training staff members

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field
• Proven experience in portfolio management, project management, or related field
• Experience in software development, IT, or related field
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
• The ability to see the big picture and also understand the finer points of planning, analytics, data, and process

  - Experience is required within the following disciplines: -

• Project management tools and methodologies
• Agile and Scrum methodologies
• Financial management and budgeting
• Risk management and mitigation
• Stakeholder management
• Change management
• Vendor management
• Resource management
• Reporting and analysis
