Permanent Day and Night Veterinary Nurse - Littlehampton, West Sussex

• Are you looking to join an established small animal practice in West Sussex?
• A mix of day and night shifts?

We are recruiting on behalf of a small animal practice in Littlehampton for a Permanent Day and Night Veterinary Nurse to join their team.

The practice is looking for a confident and ambitious RVN who has good experience working in a small animal practice. The role will involve all aspects of nursing and you will be prepared to develop your skills by collaborating with the wider team. You will perform your nursing duties with confidence to provide the gold standard of care to the practice's loyal clients. You must have excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

The practice is looking for someone who has the flexibility to work a mix of day and night shifts.Your nursing duties will involve assisting the vets in surgery, nurse consultations and emergencies during the day shifts and inpatient care during the night shifts. You will have the confidence to work sole charge as this will be required during the night shifts, although there will be an on-call vet to support you.

This role is part time with weekends on a rota. There will be no on-call duties.

Duties:

• Assisting in the day to day running of the practice
• Admissions and discharges
• Working alongside the non-clinical and clinical teams to ensure the smooth delivery of patient and client care
• Be responsible and take ownership of tasks
• Monitoring operations and assisting the vet in surgery
• Administering medications and taking records accurately
• In-patient care
• Nurse clinics
• Measuring blood pressure, sampling, and pharmacy work
• Type: Small animal
• OOH: Yes
• Sole charge: Yes, during night shifts
• Branch work: N/A
• Computer system: RX Works
• Consultations: 15 minutes
• Team: 12 vets, 11 RVNs and supportive non-clinical team
