About the Opportunity

Jacobs is actively searching for a proficient Data Engineer to join the PTSS Shared Services team based in Manchester, UK. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in diverse projects catering to major clients across various sectors. Your contributions will significantly enhance the positive impact and value of our solutions to communities and society at large.
In this position, you will collaborate closely with a dynamic, cross-functional team of problem solvers, addressing a wide array of challenges. Your responsibilities will involve incubating, building, and maintaining both new and existing professional software solutions for our clients. This role presents an exciting opportunity to engage in varied projects within a fast-paced environment.

As a Data Engineer, you will collaborate with clients and product teams to design, provision, and implement the appropriate technologies for our solutions. Your role will extend to assisting our business in establishing systems for data ingestion, transformation, and analytics from operational activities.

The ideal candidate will possess an up-to-date technical skill set and a commitment to regularly reviewing and developing their skills to keep the team well-positioned to respond to market changes and developments. The team will provide support for the ongoing development of this technical skill base.

In this capacity, you will serve as an expert and a go-to resource for data engineering queries from across the business. Working closely with the team, you will consult, analyse requirements, and develop solutions that facilitate tangible business change.

If successful, you will independently design, develop, and implement high-quality deliverables, spanning multiple clients across a diverse range of industries and sectors.
