Role: Governance Officer
Location: Middlewich/Hybrid
Salary: £30,000

As an Information Governance Officer, you will be at the forefront of our Information Security & Privacy work program, collaborating closely with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) and the Compliance Team. Your mission: to ensure unwavering compliance with InHealth Intelligence’s (IHI) cutting-edge Information Security & Privacy Strategy, data protection legislation, and ISO27001 Certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate reports for data protection risks, collaborating with stakeholders to implement mitigation actions.
- Monitor and manage emails in the Data Protection Officer mailbox.
- Offer guidance on data protection matters to key internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in regular reviews of IHI’s Information Security & Privacy policies, procedures, and compliance documents.
- Support DPO and Compliance Team in internal and external data protection audits, including maintaining ISO27001 and ISO9001 Certifications.
- Provide regular, concise reports to the DPO on data protection matters.
- Deliver updates through key performance indicators (KPIs) and agreed-upon metrics related to the role.
- Perform any additional duties as required.
Key Experience: - In-depth knowledge of data protection legislation, including the Data Protection Act 2018, UK GDPR, PECR, EU GDPR, and related laws, national standards, and guidance. Familiarity with ISO27001 is a plus.
- Professional, pragmatic, and authoritative approach to support and guide IHI in developing and implementing activities and controls for information security and data protection compliance. Ability to clearly communicate the rationale and justification for proposals.
- Effective communication skills at all levels, both written and oral. Proficient in delivering engaging and impactful data protection training to personnel and contractors.
- Maintaining and developing detailed expertise in current data protection legislation. Skillful interpretation and communication of these laws to internal and external stakeholders when providing advice.
- Previous experience supporting the successful delivery of a data protection program.
