A TLR might be available for a candidate with appropriate skills and/or experience
Required for Sept 2024
Tanbridge House School is an inspiring place to work, where students and staff share the same goals and strive to be exceptional every day through our core values of Care Kindness and Achievement. We teach to the top to ensure that students are challenged in all lessons. Staff are reflective and committed to continually developing their own practice.
If you love teaching, are passionate about languages and want to be part of a brilliant team where you will receive outstanding professional development, then Tanbridge House School would like to hear from you.
The successful candidate will be:
Enthusiastic, flexible, and resilient
Determined to make a difference in young peoples lives
Ambitious for students and for themselves
A reflective practitioner, always striving to be the best they can be
At Tanbridge House School, we pride ourselves in teaching French, Spanish and German. All students in KS3 come to Tanbridge learning French alongside Spanish or German. We run a three year KS4 which is currently with the AQA exam board. We are slowly transitioning to Edexcel since the new MFL specification was released last year. It would be beneficial if candidates could offer two languages at KS3 and at least one at KS4.
In 2023, our results showed that 81% of all students across French, Spanish and German achieved a grade 4 or above. 25% of students for Spanish and German achieved a grade 7 or above. And, 41% of students for French achieved a grade 7 and above. As you can see, we are a strong department that is looking to maintain this high-quality teaching and passion for our subject.
Enrichment is something that MFL works incredibly hard on to ensure students develop their cultural capital and understanding of the language they are learning in the real world. We have successfully run trips to France and Spain with a cross-curricular trip to Germany with the History department. We also have a theatre come into school to show the entertaining side of languages.
Please see the school website for an application form. Please contact Mrs Duneclift at the above email address or on extension 279 if you have any queries. Please note, CVs are not acceptable
Please complete the standard application form and supporting statement (two sides A4 font 11-12) using the following headings:

Closing date: Monday 18 March 2024
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
