Seeking a reliable mini bus driver with a full clean D1 driving license, over 25 years old, and a minimum of five years driving experience. Responsibilities include safely transporting passengers and adhering to all traffic regulations.
Position: Mini Bus Driver
Newry & Mourne Community Transport, established in 2004, is seeking a dedicated Mini Bus Driver to join our team. As a Limited Company with charitable status, we operate under a Section 10B exemption permit, providing affordable and accessible transportation services to our community members in rural Newry & Mourne, South Down, and South Armagh.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Dial A Lift and Group Transport services to individual and group members, ensuring safe and timely transportation.
- Assist passengers, including those with physical or mental disabilities, as needed.
- Uphold safety standards at all times, ensuring passengers are carried in a safe, comfortable, and courteous manner.
- Operate lifts and ramps on vehicles, securing wheelchairs properly.
- Provide minor first aid to passengers when necessary and promptly report any incidents to the Transport Manager.
- Maintain scheduled timings and keep detailed trip records.
- Complete daily vehicle checks and report any damage or defects to management.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle's interior and perform regular washing.
- Refuel vehicles using provided fuel card and report fuel usage to the office.
- Complete required training courses, including MIDAS and Passenger Assistance Training.
- Adhere to all driving regulations and report any driving-related incidents to management.
- Address passenger concerns or complaints and adhere to NMCT's Policies & Procedures.
- Prioritize health and safety at all times.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management to support NMCT's objectives.
- Demonstrate flexibility as part of a small team.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Adherence to NMCT's ethics and values.
- Full clean driving license with D1 entitlement.
- Over 25 years of age.
- Minimum of five years driving experience.
Desirable:
- Experience with passenger lifts and safety measures.
- Relevant driving experience with minibuses or large vans.
- Full category D or D1 license or MIDAS training certificate.
Salary and Benefits:
- £19,163-£20,044 p.a. (pro-rata)
- 3% Employer contribution to NEST Pension scheme
- 23 days annual leave plus bank and public holidays (increasing to 25 days after 2 years and 30 days after 10 years)
- 12 months fixed term subject to funding
