Our Asset Reliability division is a specialist provider of condition-based monitoring and reliability engineering services.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for a mid-level C#/.NET/ASP software engineer to join our team in North West England. The ideal candidate should have 2-5 years of experience post-university degree in computer science, electronic engineering, mathematics, or other hard science or engineering degree. Experience in the maritime sector is a plus as is experience with embedded systems development. You must have a technical curiosity and a desire to keep learning new things.
Essential skills:
- 2-5 years of experience post-university degree in computer science, electronic engineering, mathematics, or other hard science or engineering degree.
- Due to the nature of security clearance needed, we will need you to have lived in the UK for the last 5 years.
- Experience working with C#/.NET/ASP.
- Experience with JavaScript
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle especially team development using git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to work a minimum of two days per week at our Warrington office – we will be flexible with the days, but we value in-person time with the rest of the team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Mathematics, or other hard science or engineering degree.
- Ability to gain UK Security Clearance essential (must have 5 years residence in the UK)
Desirable additional skills:
- Development experience of Android applications using the Ionic framework.
- Experience of the engineering/maritime sector is a plus.
- Exposure to database development using SQL.
- Exposure to sensor data acquisition based applications.
- Understanding of computer networking.
- Understanding of web application security.
- Experience managing environments using virtual machines.
What will I be doing?
You will be reporting into the software team leader responsible for our maritime monitoring solutions. The job will need you to:
- Design, develop, and maintain software solutions using C#/.NET/ASP.
- Work with the team to analyse application specifications and document user requirements.
- Write high-quality code and debug across multiple modules while dealing with related external dependencies.
- Participate in the implementation plan that includes schedule, priorities, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Perform unit and technical testing of web applications.
- Document tools and practices and participate actively in knowledge sharing processes.
- Contribute to and enhance coding standards, best practices, and procedures.
- Provide post-production support when necessary.
- You will have opportunities to travel both within the UK and internationally and to be involved in technical commission work aboard customer vessels.
- You will be working in a small software development team and interacting closely with the electronics systems team. We ask that our team work flexibly to be in the office to:
- Access specialist equipment as needed for developing our sensing solutions, and
- Having days with the whole team together to ensure we have a common understanding of how we are solving problems.
