We have UK Facilities/offices in Alloa, Elland, Bedford, East Kilbride & London. As well as employees-based UK wide within Customer sites.
An exciting new vacancy has arisen aligned to the continued growth of our Company for the role of:
STEAM TURBINE ENGINEER
BEDFORD - TRAVEL WILL BE REQUIRED
Requirements: The Steam Turbine Engineer will be involved in the management of the existing customer fleet of steam turbines and development of improvements and upgrades to designs.
As part of the Engineering Team, the successful candidate will create outage work scopes, inspect and assess turbine components (providing recommendations for repairs) and trouble shoot live issues.
This will often involve explaining problems and actions to customers directly. The role also involves reviewing existing designs and real operation, followed by design of product improvements to be implemented across the fleet.
This role may be eligible for hybrid working , in line with company policy and on agreement with line management.

Skills Required:
Ability to investigate faults and failures and the confidence to present findings to customers whilst standing firm on company positions for solutions.
Strong knowledge of fundamental mechanical engineering principles and ability to utilise hand calculations.
Ability to interact with customers and suppliers face to face, including on site at customer locations. Must be able to explain complex technical issues to customers in a language that they understand, whilst translating the detail provided by suppliers.
Ability to analyse operational data and draw logical, insightful conclusions.
Desirable:
Knowledge of standard field service works, such as required measurements, measurement techniques and alignment.
Knowledge of Control Systems for turbines or other industrial plant.
Knowledge of workshop and manufacturing techniques.
Knowledge of vibration analysis.
Membership of accredited professional organisation, either CEng/IEng or working towards achieving that status.
Education:
Strong knowledge of industrial rotating plant with steam turbines an advantage.
Use of Ansys and Solid Works or equivalent software packages.
Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent vocational qualification.
Misc:
Must be eligible for UK security clearance
