Job description
The Fylde Coast Children’s Therapy Team is a forward-thinking integrated team providing paediatric therapy services to children and families across Blackpool, Fylde & Wyre. We currently part time opportunity for a band 6 Speech and Language Therapists to join our friendly and supportive paediatric team.
You will offer speech and language therapy management for predominantly children within our Early YearsandSpecial Schools and however the role may include community clinic and mainstream depending on experience. The successful candidate will be working with children and young people with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties from 0-19. The post requires you to work with both other members of the speech and language therapy team and a range of other professionals.
The Speech and Language Therapy Team is a small but motivated team of enthusiastic clinicians and assistants.
Car owner/driver is essential to enable you to undertake the job.
This role will predominantly be working with children with complex needs in special schools and early years however this may change depend on experience. The successful candidate should be experienced in speech and language therapy for the paediatric population.
This role will include working with children from 0-19 years of age across the Fylde coast. The role may include working within special schools, early years, community clinic, mainstream schools depending on areas of experience. The Fylde coast is a welcoming place to live, offering a mix of market town and rural locations as well as the more well-known locations of Blackpool and Lytham St. Annes. We are only 45 minutes away from Manchester and less than an hour away from the southern Lake District, with the university town of Lancaster in close proximity also.

To work within and adhere to the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT) Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct, The Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards of Practice, relevant Trust policies, procedures and guidelines.
To be responsible for the management of a caseload of children with a variety of speech, language and communication difficulties across a range of settings including Early Years and special schools.
To participate in the management (assessment, diagnosis, treatment, general management and discharge) of children referred to the service.
To be involved in the provision of support, guidance and information to parents and other professionals regarding speech, language and communication.
To assist in the clinical supervision and education of speech and language therapy assistants.
To participate in the clinical education of speech and language therapy students.
To work in the community as a lone practitioner in line with the BTH lone worker policy.
