UE06 £31,396 to £36,024 per annum plus 15% on-call allowance and 15% shift allowance (A revised salary range for this grade of £32,982 to £38,205 is planned to take effect from Spring 2024)

We are looking for a Door Technician to join our Technical Services team on a permanent basis to help support the University of Edinburgh’s Access Control Door and alarm monitoring system.

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Door Technician to join our Technical Services team on a permanent basis to help support the University of Edinburgh’s Access Control Door and alarm monitoring system. The Door Technician will be based in Argyle House, Edinburgh and report to the Technical Services Team Leader. They will work 35hrs per week with some flexibility around shift patterns (08:00 – 18:00), however the role involves being on-call 247 one week out of four.

What the job involves:

Installing, testing and commissioning access control door entry systems and telephony equipment, meeting all relevant specifications across the University of Edinburgh’s Estates.
Operation of the management software Ccure 9000 in order to facilitate the daily University business, analyse faults and report on resource.
Travelling between sites across the city of Edinburgh in University fleet vehicles.
Working on call in one week in four being on call and able to respond to faults or requests for information 24 hours a day.
Completing all relevant documentation and record keeping.
