We have an exciting opportunity for a Housing Officer to join our Housing team, based in Stoke. As a Housing Officer you will be responsible for managing a patch of properties whilst working with colleagues across different business areas to deliver an effective housing management service. Based at our housing hub, at Baskeyfield House in Stoke, the role will include travel to different areas within your patch, as well as covering for other team members when required. We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role, with the ability to work on your own initiative and an enthusiastic attitude to face challenges ahead.

The role of Housing Officer will include:

• Managing a range of situations including complex cases of ASB (anti-social behaviour), which may include attending evictions, liaising with tenancy enforcement agencies, gathering relevant information to support these actions
• Managing the complaint process for the service area
• Supporting new tenant sign ups and working closely with the Lettings team to allocate void properties
• Preparing banding reports for management
• Producing lettings plans for our properties
• Attending various meetings with external agencies regarding safeguarding, ASB and other issues
• Coordinate tenancy termination and changes and support tenancy auditing and fraud investigations
• Play a key role in risk management which involves carrying out compliance checks and working with internal and external stakeholders to complete fire risk assessment actions
• Line management of staff who are based at our Housing for Older Person schemes

Skills and experiences:

• Recent experience undertaking a similar role within the social housing sector
• Proven experience of delivering high quality tenancy and customer service
• Knowledge of relevant housing regulations and legislation
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Experience and knowledge of good practice resident involvement activities
• Proficient user of Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams
• Travel is a requirement of the role; therefore, a full valid driving licence is essential
