An opportunity has arisen with an outstanding Welsh charity who are recruiting for a Finance and Operations Manager on a permanent basis.
The charity provides high levels and crucial services, in both emotional support and practical terms. As an organisation they have defined values and ambitions for the future. The Finance and Operations Manager will manage a Finance Officer and be responsible for robust financial and operational output.
Finance and Operations Manager job description
• Manage, motivate and oversee the work of a Finance Officer who is responsible for various accounting duties.
• Calculate and manage cashflow to ensure sufficient funds are available to fulfil commitments.
• Support the strategic and business planning process by preparing annual budgets and long-term financial plans, collaborating with, and supporting the senior management team (SMT) with budgeting and forecasting.
• Support the fundraising team in analysing profit and loss for events.
• Monitor the financial management systems and processes to drive continuous improvement and support grant management, restricted funds and fundraising activity.
• Carry out internal audit function to monitor that systems and procedures are being adequately followed.
• Continuously track the financial health of the charity and the financial status of individual projects including events.
• Provide insightful information and expectations to the SMT and trustees to aid long-term and short-term decision making.
• Represent Finance at trustee and fundraising meetings and present results, budgets, and relevant reports.
• Actively participate in the assessment of grant applications.
• Manage all regulatory filings including those with Companies House and the Charity Commission.
• Involvement with additional business operations such as IT and Human Resources. This includes overseeing IT systems, negotiating with suppliers, adhering to HR policies, stock control etc.

• Demonstrable experience in a senior Finance role.
• Strong academic background and evidence of continued professional development.
• Credible leadership skills and experience of managing staff.
• Able to produce budgets with diverse income streams and expenditure.
• Excellent IT ability to include software and Microsoft Excel.
• Able to develop and improve existing processes/procedures.
