JOB DESCRIPTION

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 23 year old man living in the Aberdare area and I have a learning disability.

I have a number of interests including music, I like a wide range of singers and bands. I have attended a number of music concerts this year and have a few more to go too!

I also enjoy watching WWE and Welsh Wrestling and go to watch it every year in Cardiff. In addition, I really like to go to the cinema, bowling, bingo and shopping.

Some activities I would like to engage in with my PA is going to the pub, going to concerts, going out for meals and especially any other activities that will assist me to develop a peer group of a similar age and develop my confidence.

I have significant learning difficulties which means that I may take a little longer to process conversations or situations.

PURPOSE OF JOB

Support in the community to increase social interactions with others, develop social skills and travel confidence.

HOURS OF WORK

10 hours to be worked flexibly.

RATES OF PAY

£12.00 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

• · Toileting needs (on occasion)
• · Social outings
• · Community activities
• · Shopping
• · Attending the pub/concerts
• · Supporting on public transport
• · Providing companionship
• · Any other reasonable task

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

• · Male preferred due to potential personal care needs
• · Someone who is reliable, patient, caring and friendly
• · You must be able to encourage and promote my social skills
• · A confident person who is easy to engage with
• · Car driver preferred but not essential
• · Comfortable with pets in the house (as there may be occasions where I would like to take the family dog for a walk)

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly weekly and appropriate holiday pay given.
The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer.
The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
