An opportunity has arisen for a Test Engineer – Electrical Systems to join the Electrical department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. The purpose of the role is to work in the Electrical Systems Team to manage and carry out systems and software testing, to support the systems, hardware, and software teams.
Job role: - Define and execute system test and software verification activities, both on rigs and in the virtual environment, Mil, Sil and HiL testing.
- Write test cases to verify system and software requirements.
- Create test scripts to implement the test cases in the test environment.
- Create Matlab test harnesses to verify software models against the software test scripts.
- Assist with the fault-finding and debugging of system, software, and Matlab models.
- Preparation and presentation of reports for internal and external audiences.
- Support technical and project reviews with the customer, representing WAE, as required.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and all other departments.
- Understand and work to WAE, Customer, Industry and Legislative standards, including ASPICE
You’ll have: Essential
- Experience and proven track record in electrical integration within the automotive or Autosport industries.
- Degree (or equivalent) in relevant engineering discipline or in job experience.
- A good understanding of different testing and validation methods
- The ability to work flexibly to strict deadlines.
- Experience of running Vector VT System Hardware in the Loop test rigs.
- Experience in using Matlab and Simulink
Preferred
- Experience of Electric Vehicles – HV charging, HV battery and HV powertrain systems
- Working knowledge of Vector tools including CANalyzer
- Experience of Requirements Capture Tools, such as Siemens Polarion or IBM Rational Doors
- Has an understanding of functional Safety and ISO26262
