What you will do in your working day

Here’s what your role as an apprentice will involve:

The training you will be getting

Once you have completed your apprenticeship and passed your APC, you will become a chartered surveyor and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors;

This apprenticeship provides you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to meet the requirements of the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence (APC). On passing the APC, you will become a Chartered Surveyor (MRICS).

This apprenticeship is a three-way partnership between the employer, the apprentice and UCEM. The aim is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to become a successful building control surveyor. You will spend 80% of your time working
“on the job” and putting what you are learning into practice. You will do this by:

Apprentices will be required to complete a Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) accredited BSc/BSc(Honours)

What to expect at the end of your apprenticeship

Once you have completed your apprenticeship and passed your APC, you will become a chartered surveyor and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

There is a diverse range of career paths you can take as a Chartered Surveyor. Surveyors’ jobs involve working in either land, infrastructure, construction or property. They play a key role in shaping the world around us and are involved at every stage of the complex and dynamic building life cycle.
