You will be responsible for leading the Trust’s contribution to national and local consultations, policy campaignsand internal and external research studies. You will ensure at all times the voices of neurodivergent people,those using our services, partners, stakeholders and colleagues are represented. By doing so you will ensure theDonaldson Trust has visibility, credibility and influence across a broad range of policy and decision makers inScotland and UK wide.

This is initially a standalone position with the potential to build a small team.

You will have proven experience of working in a policy role, planning and delivering campaigns of influence andstrong knowledge of policy landscape in Scotland and the UK. With excellent interpersonal, communication andcollaborative skills, you will be highly self-motivated and demonstrate a positive “can do” attitude.

This is a full time position, but we’re happy to discuss flexible working.

The Trusts and Grants Fundraiser will develop and manage the annual fundraising plan, identify new income streams,manage day to day relationships with trusts and grant funders and maintain a pipeline of funding applicationsaligned with the charity’s vision, values and strategic goals.

You will have proven track record of raising funds from written applications, strong writing, project management andorganisational skills. With strong interpersonal skills, you will have confidence in building relationships andcollaborating effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.

This is a full time position, but we’re happy to discuss flexible working.

Scottish Women’s Aid has an opportunity to join their infrastructure team as a Grants and Fundraising Officer. Thisis a new position within the team, the role holder will be responsible for generating a diverse income andensuring that our fundraising activities align with our strategic priorities. They will work closely with theOperations Manager as well as the Finance and Communications team.

Background

Scottish Women’s Aid is Scotland’s leading voluntary sector organisation working to end domestic abuse and promotingeffective policy and practice responses for women, children and young people who experience domestic abuse. Weare the umbrella organisation for 32 autonomous Women’s Aid groups delivering direct services to women, childrenand young people across Scotland.

What You’ll Do

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation you will develop strong and compelling fundraising bids for arange of trusts, grant funders and government funding streams. You will support the Management Team to developand deliver an effective, values-based fundraising strategy in line with our strategic priorities. You will alsowork closely with the Finance and Communications Team to attract diverse streams of income and developinnovative ways of reaching donors as well as demonstrating the impact of SWA’s work. Building a network ofeffective relationships with grant making bodies as well as corporate and community partners and stakeholderswill be integral to the role.

What We Need

We’re looking for someone with experience in a similar role, with specific experience of developing and writingsuccessful funding applications from a wide range of funding sources, preferably in a similar context. We’relooking for someone with skills across a range of fundraising profiles, with experience of developing legacy andcorporate fundraising streams as well as community fundraising. We ask that you re a self-starter, ready toapply these skills creatively to meet our strategic priorities. Excellent written and verbal communicationsskills go without saying: you’ll be skilled in the ability to engage confidently with a range of differentaudiences, and be adept at writing to suit them, working alongside collegues across SWA to co-produce bids,reports and evaluations for funders.

Pay

SWA are a Living wage employer, our pay and grading system offers a competitive starting salary and yearlyprogression.

We offer a full-time annual leave entitlement of 30 days (210 hours) per year plus 10 Public Holiday days (70 hours)per year. Leave is accrued at the rate of 3.33 days (23.3 hours) per month.

Pension

SWA believes it's important that we help you save for your retirement so access to Nest pension scheme is givento all eligible employees. SWA contributes 10% of gross contractual earnings on the provision that the employeecontributes a minimum of 3% towards their pension contributions.

Learning and Development

SWA supports and develops staff to ensure they have the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. There is aninternal schedule of training on key skills and knowledge relevant to all staff. There is also scope to attendad hoc training for employees who are working to develop specific skills.

Enhanced Maternity and Paternity Pay

SWA offers staff who meet the criteria for Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP) an enhanced maternity pay of 20 weeks onfull pay and 20 weeks on half pay.

As part of SWA’s commitment to staff wellbeing, staff are offered access to a confidential 24/7 health and Wellbeingservice with AIG which provides confidential advice, counselling and legal support to all staff, and whereapplicable, immediate family members.

Bike 2 Work

An interest-free loan to purchase a bike, can be arranged up to the value of £1,000.

Edinburgh Leisure Gym Subsidies

Edinburgh based staff are able to access Edinburgh Leisure facilities for the reduced price of £1 per session.

About the role

This role has arisen due to the early retirement of the current postholder. The Families pillar is full ofknowledgeable, experienced, dedicated staff, and this role leads them to deliver the following services:

You’ll be responsible for leading the pillar’s strategic and operational activities. This includes planning,budgeting, funding, partnerships, quality assurance and risk management.

About you

You will have a knack for translating strategic aims into operational reality. You will be a role model of Cyrenians’values-led, relationships-based approach, with experience in managing, developing and supporting services andpeople. You’ll be keen to use your excellent management skills to support your teams, build connections andshare learning across the Families pillar and beyond.

You’ll bring knowledge of the issues facing young people and families today, alongside excellent partnership-workingand contract management skills. You’ll have experience in building, developing and evaluating services. As thisis a busy, complex role, you’ll benefit from being organised and skilled in managing expectations and competingpriorities.

You’ll be supported by an experienced Director of Services, and join a collaborative, knowledgeable senior managementteam, who will support you to develop and grow in your role. You’ll also have access to wider Cyrenians’support, including our learning programme, and staff wellbeing services.

Do you have a passion for inspiring children to grow fruit and vegetables and improve their health and wellbeing? Doyou some horticultural experience and enjoy working with children and their families? This is an excitingopportunity to join a new project that aims to actively improve the health of children and their families, andtheir understanding and interest in the environment and biodiversity. The project will span four Primary Schoolsin Rosyth. Where children will learn and participate in their schools sowing, planting, growing, harvesting,tasting, and cooking fruit and vegetables. They will take this learning home – growing and cooking and eatingfruit and vegetables at home.

You will join a Project Gardner and a Project Support Officer and be supported by the General Manager of EATS Rosyth.The Education officer will lead on the project activities, deliver the lessons to the children and create theeducation programme at the end of the project and lead on its dissemination.
