About the Opportunity

As a Commercial Product Developer at Jacobs, you are at the heart of turning a plethora of innovative ideas into commercially successful products. Your primary mission is to strategically guide the product development process from a concept that meets market needs to a monetized market offering. Collaborating closely with technical, marketing, and sales teams, your role is crucial in ensuring that our technical solutions not only solve problems but also generate significant revenue and market share.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the transformation of innovative ideas into commercially viable products, guiding them from ideation through to market launch.

· Work closely withour deep technical delivery and R&D teams to ensure technical projects align with commercial goals, focusing on the monetization of product features and capabilities.

· Develop and refine business cases for new product initiatives, emphasizing market potential, monetization strategies, revenue projections, and investment needs.

· Collaborate with marketing and sales to craft compelling go-to-market strategies, innovative pricing models, and effective sales channels, focusing on maximizing revenue from new products.

· Continuously assess the commercial performance of products post-launch, recommending and implementing strategies to enhance market penetration and profitability.

· Stay ahead of market trends and technological advancements, leveraging insights to steer the product development pipeline towards high-value, monetizable innovations.

Here’s what you’ll need :

· A degree or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.

· Significant experience in product development, with a proven track record of successfully bringing products to market and achieving commercial success. Direct sales experience or experience working closely with sales teams to understand the sales process and how it influences product development is highly valued.

· Technical Skills: Strong understanding of the product development process, from conception to commercialization. Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.

· Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated ability to develop business cases, monetization strategies, and understanding market dynamics. Experience of working in a corporate incubation environment.

· Leadership and Collaboration: Experience leading cross-functional teams and working collaboratively with R&D, marketing, and sales departments.

· Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and persuasively.

· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative approach to overcoming challenges and finding profitable solutions.

· Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and adapt to changing priorities.

· Self-Starter with an Entrepreneurial Mindset: Demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently, and drive projects forward with minimal supervision. Possesses an entrepreneurial spirit, embracing innovation, identifying opportunities, taking calculated risks, and achieving commercial success.

· Customer Experience Design: Understanding of customer experience design principles and methodologies, ensuring products not only meet market needs but also provide exceptional user experiences.
