This is a business management role with both the requirement for direct operational delivery and sales development.
The key responsibilities are as follows:
- Client/Customer Relations
- Proactively sell the business by following up on leads generated by the Central Sales team
- organising meetings and driving up sales
- To feed new work opportunities back to the Central sales team to ensure they are recorded and tracked so that no opportunity is missed
- To be in regular weekly contact with the Client Officers and customers to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain Glendale Countryside's reputation
- To price small tenders and support the Business Development team through site visits and offering technical support in pricing and submissions for method statements of large tenders
- To have a thorough knowledge of BS3998, ensuring work is delivered to this standard following Glendale Arboricultural safe systems of work Oversee the smooth running of the business ensuring that work is undertaken in a timely, cost-effective and efficient way, in accordance with the business demands of Glendale
- To monitor team productivity to ensure is it in line with profitable output levels. Ensure all work teams adhere to the companies Arboricultural operating procedures and standards; including the successful achievement of the Arboricultural Association Approved Contractor Accreditation
- Plan annual Capital Expenditure for the business, proposing this annual through the company's Capital Expenditure procedure. Vehicles and Machinery: Maintain all vehicles and work equipment in a safe working condition in accordance with the company’s Health Safety and Welfare Policy, and Operational Systems Manual
- Regularly monitor and record the conditions of all vehicles and work equipment and ensure all damage, wear or neglect is repaired and recorded.
- Ensure routine and seasonal servicing is carried out in a timely manner
- Ensure staff are trained and fully certified to use vehicles and work equipment safely and do so at all times
- Human Resources: Organise the work teams on a daily basis: develop successful teams and match them to the work; including organising training plans and inductions
- Stay in regular contact with the Human Resources team, seeking their advice and keeping them informed of staff changes and developments
- Maintain the business on a budget only increasing expenditure in line with sales
- Assist the Administration staff to raise invoices and applications promptly and accurately
- Be responsible for weekly and monthly financial reporting. Be responsible for chasing down invoice payments that are over 60 days
