Head of Mathematics and Computing
Full Time – Permanent Contract
Salary Scale: MPS/UPS + TLR 1A (£30,000 – £46,525 + £9,272)
Starting September 2024

We are seeking a passionate, energetic and ambitious Head of Mathematics and Computing to join us following the successful promotion of the existing postholder to the Senior Leadership Team.
As part of an educational restructure in the local area in 2022, we have welcomed over 300 new students and over 30 staff into our community and are now a secondary school of 800 learners across Years 7-13.
As we continue to increase in numbers we are seeking exceptional, like-minded colleagues to become part of our family in delivering teaching and learning and personal development of the highest quality.
We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:
- Be an exceptional teacher of Mathematics and / or Computing. (Highly desirable)
- Provide exceptional high-quality leadership and act as a lead practitioner in all aspects of the role.
- Ensure the best use of allocated INSET and curriculum area time to improve teaching and learning by linking it with the strategic needs of the school.
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the curriculum areas.
- Ensure robust and effective assessment across the curriculum areas informs students how to make further progress in their learning, enabling improved student outcomes.
You are likely to be someone who:
- Has a real passion for Mathematics and Computing, with the experience and desire to progress further.
- Has a track-record of exceptional classroom teaching with an acute understanding of effective pedagogy.
- Can demonstrate a commitment to and knowledge/experience of effective strategies to maintain and raise attainment, in particular to address the differing needs which exist in the mixed ability classroom, which include second language learners.
- Has significant experience of improving outcomes for students with SEND or disadvantage.
- Is flexible, able to work under pressure, meet deadlines and prioritise workload.
- Has a commitment to the aims and values of comprehensive education, the school’s vision and ethos, as well as the implementation of equal opportunities policy and practice.
- Is authentic – at heart a positive human being that cares about themselves as much as others.
