People Business Partner

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

£37,136 per year

30 hours per week – to be worked over 4 or 5 days

Temporary position for up to 12 months

We are looking for a People Business Partner to join our People Relations team who provide employment support and guidance on HR matters to staff and managers within a specific business area. The team is made up of dedicated People Business Managers’ and Senior People Partners, with 12 People Business Partners reporting into them. This role will provide people relations support to our Customer Service Centre in Hull and Banbury, our Property Services Hub and Income Servies team in Banbury.

The role of People Business Partner will include:

• Providing employment advice and support to all business areas on topics such as performance management, absence, disciplinary, probation and restructures / change programmes to ensure compliance with policies and legislation and minimising risk to the business
• Proactively managing cases and supporting the business with change programmes
• Effectively responding to queries from managers and employees
• Attending formal meetings where required
• Making Occupational Health referrals where necessary and following up with the manager and employee accordingly
• Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships with internal customers (including senior managers)
• Attending and supporting with staff council meetings

Skills and experiences:

• Chartered Member of CIPD is essential

• Experience of delivering expert HR advice and support

• Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workloads

• Experience in risk management in terms of Employee Relations cases
• Working knowledge of current employment legislation
• Capability to manage own case work and to contribute to HR strategy
• Experience of working with senior managers and directors is desirable
• Experience of supporting change programmes is desirable
• Proficient user of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, previous use of SAP is highly advantageous
• This role will involve some travel to our offices in Banbury and Hull, therefore a full, valid driving licence is essential
