Associate Engineer

Amersham

£65,000 - £70,000 plus benefits

Our client offers a full range of engineering services from their network of national offices. Their success story continues, and they are looking to expand their engineering services from their office in Amersham to include rail structures.

To start this off they want to make a strategic appointment of an Associate Engineer who has extensive rail structures experience. The role offers an opportunity to work on projects with Network Rail and railway contractors – and more.

You will be expected to manage your own projects and team, whilst developing your own career.

Responsibilities:

• Preparation of railway technical approval submissions in accordance with sector standards;
• Preparation of civil and structural designs using manual calculations and relevant rail software;
• Liaise with clients and external agencies including Network Rail, Regional Highways Authorities and Environment Agency;
• Capable of representing our client at meetings;
• Oversee work carried out by technicians.

About you:

• Relevant degree in engineering, ideally working towards Chartership;
• Experience managing a team working on rail structures design;
• Able to evidence successful delivery of rail structures schemes;
• Fully conversant with Network Rail Company Standards and Railway Group Standards;
• Working knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes.

This role comes with a high level of commitment and responsibility, and there may be occasional weekend and night shifts. You should have excellent communication skills and possess a good understanding of fee management.
