- Job Title: Safeguarding Partnership Communications Officer
- Job Type: Full-time, initially a 6-month contract
Job Description Slough Borough Council are seeking a highly skilled Safeguarding Partnership Communications Officer to join their team.
As the Safeguarding Partnership Communications Officer, you will be responsible for producing a Safeguarding and engagement strategy, developing effective links with the councils and partners communications leads, and providing training and development for the safeguarding partnership and communications team on digitalised communications.
Key Responsibilities - Produce a Safeguarding Partnership communications and engagement strategy
- Enhance sustainable digitalised communications systems using readily available social media and working with the Councils IT and communications teams
- Provide training and development for the safeguarding partnership and communications team on digitalised communications
- Develop effective links with the councils and partners communications leads, via the one communications sub-group to enhance capability to reach the local professional, voluntary and resident communities
- Develop the new Safeguarding partnership website
- Produce an enhanced safeguarding partnership newsletter
- Provide effective in-house communications on Safeguarding within the council and with Slough Children First, our children's social care provider
- Ensure all communication meets accessibility guidelines
- Focussed communications with children and adults social care services as lead agencies and also with the community safety partnership
- Find sustainable ways for partners to communicate directly with children and vulnerable adults at risk as a target group for messaging about help available to them
Requirements - A sound knowledge and understanding of: Safeguarding legislations in relation to adults and children partnerships arrangements
- Community safety legislation
- A knowledge and understanding of a wide range of social media and digital platforms is essential
- A sound understanding of GDPR regulations and adherence to confidentiality in relation to personal information is essential
- You will have experience of working in a high pressure and high-risk statutory provider environment where the stakes are high and risk management is a highly refined art form!
- Ideally you will have demonstrable experience of working in a statutory agency such as Health, Police, Social care and/or local government or a voluntary agency
- An experienced professional from these backgrounds who has a passion for partnership working and demonstrable communications skills will be considered
- A journalism qualification would be an advantage
- DBS enhanced level essential
