Up to 12hrs a week are available initially, flexible on shift lengths/days/times. More hours may be available later this year due to current team changes. Seeking Self Employed PA only. Available hourly rate is £15 to reflect extra costs of travelling to and from very rural area. Rate is also negotiable for right person.
The Client is physically disabled and neurodivergent with some health challenges affecting energy levels. She is looking to add another person/s to her small team supporting her on short local drives and local outings with her dogs, and helping her at home before and after these trips out. This will primarily involve driving the clients car under her insurance, lifting/ moving her mobility equipment, physical assistance with the dogs (eg holding leads), assisting with journey planning and preparation, helping with food prep, light housework and other support tasks as agreed. No personal care with this role so open to applicants of any gender. Good personality fit with client is essential, specific previous experience in similar roles is not necessary. Necessary Requirements – Full, clean UK driving licence, (prefer minimum 5yrs held but will consider less)- Confident, calm, steady driver - Gentle, calm, patient personality - Understanding of energy deficiency issues and the need to avoid draining clients energy by, for example, too much small talk - Flexible, adaptable thinker - Decent executive functioning skills (especially time management and organisation)- Fitness/health level sufficient to carry out necessary physical tasks eg dealing with mobility equipment/ dogs - Enjoyment of dogs and being outside in most weathers - Fine with mud and comfortable working in very basic rural home (this job will not suit someone who is bothered by natures dirt - 'gardening clothes' are appropriate workwear here)- Willing to avoid use of perfume/ aftershave/ strongly scented personal products when working here (client has allergies and sensory issues)-- Registered as self employed in the UK or able to do so before starting job Advantageous things (but not required)-interest in natural health -interest in physical fitness/ injury rehab -interest in/ experience with supporting disabled people into work (client is aiming at self employment in near future)-interest in/ experience with non-profit organisations (client is co-founding non-profit)-interest in crafting/ upcycling/ heritage crafts -interest in social issues and aversion to bigotry, prejudice and blaming the powerless for societys problems.
