PREVIOUS APPLICANTS NEED NOT APPLY We offer an exciting development opportunity for applicants wishing to further develop their career in University administration. Reporting directly to the Institute Administrator, the deputy will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the WIMM finance and research administration teams but will be able to develop a broad knowledge of all aspects of administration in a research setting. The MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM) fosters research in molecular and cell biology with direct application to the study of human disease. This post combines strategic and operational duties. You will require an innovative approach to developing new ideas to enhance the efficient management of the building. You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, have line management experience, and a working knowledge of the major funding bodies in the biomedical research funding sector. You will also possess excellent organisational skills, display a high level of computer literacy, particularly with Microsoft Excel, together with the ability to prioritise and delegate effectively. Experience of using Oracle financials software, the University’s X5 costing package, and of working in a research or higher education environment is desirable. This is a full time, permanent position, and some remote working will be considered. Applications for this vacancy are to be made online.
