Job Description:
A Mechanical Engineer undertakes research, design, direct the manufacture and manage the operation and maintenance of engines, machines, aircraft, vehicle specialising in precision engineering in CNC Turning to interpret drawings, program using CAD/Cam software, be able to set and prove out programs on CNC turning machines to produce components used in the hydraulics and pneumatics sector.
Entry requirements for this job:
• A degree in Bsc Mechanical Engineering from an accredited University.
• An Engineering apprenticeship relating to this discipline leading to an NVQ Level 4, followed by training and working knowledge of Fixed Head and Sliding Head Centres and extensive experience in precision engineering.
Tasks required by this job includes:
• Technical experience within CNC fixed head and sliding head production methodology.
• Must possess excellent setting, proving and operating skills, whilst having 1st principle knowledge of modern tooling/fixturing and machining techniques.
• Ensure parts are manufactured to the highest quality and within acceptable tolerances.
• Identify correct CNC program, tooling and download programs to the CNC machines.
• Prove, Set and Operate Turning Head Centres.
• Create setup sheets and tool lists.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, policies and procedures and
• Extensive experience in precision engineering.
Salary: £27,000--£33,000
