Job description

To assist with the preparation of, and serving of afternoon meals. 2pm-8pm.

Accountable to Head Cook, and Care Home Management Team

Supervisory Responsibilities, none

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of food
Assist in the serving of meals to residents, staff and others.
Assist in the setting and clearing of tables.
Wash and dry kitchen pots, utensils and ensure there proper storage.
Effectively clean the kitchen area, floors, cookers, walls, in addition to anything deemed appropriate by the Head Cook.
Assist in ensuring a high level of Health and Safety, cleanliness and food hygiene, in addition to ensuring that safe working practices are followed. Report any problems to the Head Cook or Care Home Management Team.
Attend training courses as appropriate.
Undertake and other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job role.

General Duties and Responsibilities

Adhere to existing working practices, methods, procedures, and undertake relevant training and development activities and the respond positively to new and alternative systems.

To co-operate with the Head Cook and Care Home Management Team to comply with the relevant Health and Safety Legislation, Policies and Procedures in performance of the duties of the role.

Undertake any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job role.
