Job description


The organisation and delivery of primary care services in ELFT is being re-visioned to reflect an
aspiration to deliver services in a more integrated manner in collaboration with internal and external
partners. To this end the portfolio of primary care services provided directly by the Trust is expanding
and the model of service delivery is changing to include more direct participation of service users.
Directly provided primary care services range from specialist homeless practices to mainstream
general practices and are located across a wide and diverse geography including central London and
Bedfordshire. The role of Deputy Practice Manager will help to drive and support the service vision by
working in close collaboration with service users, families, partner organisations and with our other
primary care services.

Take operational running of the service includes organising sessions for clinicians on
SYSTMONE/EMIS; managing the reception and appointments system; ordering stationery
and other purchasing requirements requested by the Practice Manager;
 Overseeing/arranging the practice cleaning, maintenance and security; attending and taking
minutes at practice meetings.

The post holder will co-ordinate the completion of activities such as governance reports; block
booking of group training events; QOF, performance data, activity data and income generation
data on behalf of the Practice Manager and Lead GP.
 The post holder also oversees the annual leave booking system and the booking of bank, agency
or locum cover. The Deputy Practice Manager must liaise with the Lead Nurse or GP to ensure
that agency cover is necessary, and costs are within those nationally specified.
