Role Overview

The selected candidate for this role will be a seasoned professional with expertise in Informatica data governance, data quality, data marketplace, data profiling, and data cataloguing, with a preference for Cloud Informatica skills. Familiarity with other tools such as on-prem Informatica, Alation, Collibra, Infosphere, and Data.world is considered. The responsibilities include developing and communicating Data Governance policies, building a comprehensive data catalogue and glossary with data lineage, and providing support for data-driven decision-making and actionable insights. The role involves coordination with business stakeholders, vendor stakeholders, and project teams.

Responsibilities

Data Governance:

1. Develop and enforce data governance policies and standards.
2. Establish processes for data stewardship and data ownership.
3. Ensure compliance with data regulations and industry standards.

Data Quality:

1. Implement data quality frameworks to identify and rectify data issues.
2. Collaborate with business units to define data quality metrics and benchmarks.
3. Monitor and report on data quality performance across various systems.

Data Profiling:

1. Conduct in-depth data profiling to understand data characteristics and patterns.
2. Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, and inaccuracies in data sets.
3. Collaborate with data owners to improve data accuracy and reliability.

Data Cataloguing:

1. Maintain a comprehensive data catalogue containing metadata and data lineage information.
2. Categorise and tag data assets for easy discovery and retrieval.
3. Ensure data catalogue accuracy and completeness.
4. Glossary and business metadata development.
5. Experience in glossary support, categorise and tag data assets for easy discovery and retrieval for business use case.
6. Sensitive data assessment and data masking.

Data Marketplace:

1. Create and manage a centralised data marketplace or data exchange platform.
2. Facilitate data sharing agreements between internal teams or external partners.
3. Optimise data marketplace functionality and user experience.

Essential Experience

- Data governance principles
- Data glossary and catalogue development
- Data quality and sensitivity assessment
- Experience on Informatica – cloud Informatica preferred
- Specifically IDMC, CDGC, CDMP, CDQ, CDP, MDM
- High level of data literacy
- High level of IT literacy

Working arrangements - Minimum once a week on client site near Birmingham
