Role: Employability & Functional Skills Tutor
Salary: £30k - £32k
Location: Newcastle & North-Tyne
Role Overview
Trigon Recruitment are recruiting for a well established national training provider. It is working on the UKSPSF contract which supports people who are on a qualifying benefit to work towards and achieve accredited qualifications.
The role will be located in the Northeast with delivery will be delivered peripatetically in various setting throughout the Newcastle Area. Operating hours are 9-5 Monday to Friday.
Use of own vehicle is essential.

Role & Responsibilities
- To deliver Employability and Functional Skills, entry up to level 2
- To motivate and inspire learners through differentiated learning.
- To ensure all qualifications meet the awarding body’ standards
- To ensure the quality of education is good in line with OFSTED’s EIF
- To develop and improve resources and curriculum where required.
- To provide meaningful feedback to learners and key stakeholders
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the successful completion, achievement, and progression of all learners on your caseload in a timely manner.
- Continuously identify progression opportunities for learners.
- Organize, plan, deliver, and evaluate teaching, learning, and assessment at various levels, along with completing related administrative tasks using our e-portfolio systems.
- Establish and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with all clients.
- Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in responding positively to change and innovation.
- This role may require travel to client premises from locations outside the normal contractual base, as well as remote and flexible work as needed.
- The ability to create engaging and relevant curriculum content that covers essential employability skills, such as CV writing, interview preparation, and job search strategies.
- A good understanding of the local job market, industry trends, and employment opportunities to provide relevant guidance to learners.
Requirements:
- Must have experience in delivering Functional Skills or Maths and English up to Level 2.
- Experience of delivering employability qualifications.
- A relevant teaching qualification, minimum PTLLS, is required.
- An assessing qualification, Full TAQA or V1, is desirable.
- An understanding of Ofsted and the Education Inspection Framework.
- Holding a full, clean UK Driving License is a requirement.
