An exciting opportunity has become available for a Trade, investment and Innovation Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. The role comes with a competitive salary of £58,064- £63,754 per annum depending upon experience.

About the role:
To drive more Trade and Investment between the World and Cambridgeshire and Peterborough that achieves doubling GVA by 2040 and delivers good growth as defined in the Combined Authority devolution deal and Economic Growth Strategy. Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area is the place where unique business, natural and research assets tackle world problems whilst creating good jobs, wage growth, learning opportunities and healthy lives for all the residents in all parts of the region. To lead a team to work with businesses, residents, key stakeholders and local authorities to ensure Cambridgeshire and Peterborough area is globally leading and competitive and is more equal and sustainable.
Key responsibilities of our ROLE:
- Help Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to lobby for key reforms to the regions business environment by identifying ‘high value’ investment barriers.
- Lead collation of key strategic capital projects ranging from £25m to £100m+ Gross Development Value into a pipeline of opportunities which can be promoted at any time into potential funding channels including DBT Capital Investment team, OxCam Investment Atlas, Office for Investment, DLUHC, Pension Funds and private investors.
- Lead on building interest, offer advice and give support to businesses seeking to trade and invest in internal & external markets
- Lead on developing and managing a database of specialised sector knowledge, maintain relations with relevant public and private stakeholders and maintain channels to facilitate trade and investment.
- Lead on the creation of and adoption by the Boards and Committees of a CPCA Internationalisation Plan that includes Trade related activities and support to business
- The key sectors of focus are currently Agri-Tech, Life Science, Advanced Manufacturing & Materials and Digital, but there will be opportunity to add value and support delivery in other Foundational sectors, enablers or cross cutting themes, such as Clean-Tech, Net Zero, Logistics, knowledge Intensive, collaborative innovation, Creative and Culture across the region.
- Lead on developing an Innovation Strategy for the Combined Authority, working with the Sector Specialist & key local, national and international partners to identify areas of potential growth and support.
- Lead and create an implementation plan supporting the delivery of the Innovation Strategy that links in key partners across the Combined Authority area
- Lead the work with internal team and external partners to build interest, offer advice and give support to businesses seeking to innovate their business, products or processes.
- Lead the Development and managment of a database of specialised sector knowledge, maintain relations with relevant public and private stakeholders and maintain channels to facilitate innovation support, Research and Development.
What we are looking for:
- Proven track record in leading and managing internal teams, external partners and stakeholders within a Trade & Investment or Innovation environment
- Proven experience in leading dynamic multi-functional teams
- 5+ years experienced in developing client relationships, for example with an investment promotion agency, professional services firm
- Good strategic understanding and knowledge of strategy development
- Experience in Account Management across diverse portfolios
- Excellent relationship manager
