PETA are proud to be working with The Cowplain School to support them with the recruitment and training of a new IT Support Technician Apprentice. The successful applicant will join the team at their school in Waterlooville and work Monday to Friday.

Training to be provided: As an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be studying towards a level three ICT Support Technician apprenticeship. This apprenticeship is 22 months in length and will involve ongoing onsite training and mentoring from The Cowplain School team combined with 25 days of off the job training at the PETA training centre in Cosham.
About the role: Joining the team as an IT Support Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assist with simple routine repair and maintenance of ICT equipment
- Checking printers are online and maintained weekly
- Carry out simple networking tasks, eg password resets and assigning access rights
- Maintain network security through the use of appropriate products
- Maintain an inventory of spare parts used in the ICT department
- Contacting and liaising with hardware suppliers for the purchasing of spares
- Deciding on and organising any repairs to ICT hardware around the campus
- Maintain users and user accounts on both the local and cloud networks
- Investigate software regarding its potential use on the school network

- Good communication and organisation skills
- Good problem solving and analytical skills
- Enthusiastic and willingness to learn
- You will be a team player who is able to work using own initiative
- Grade 4/C in maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent
