What you will do in your working day

We are looking for an apprentice to join our engineering team in Gloucester, where you will be part of a growing team and company with ambitious plans for development in the next few years and beyond. 

The position will initially be based in our workshop in Gloucester (Year 1 and 2) following which you will also assist off site work, travelling to various locations across the UK to service, maintain or fix components for the fluid power industry. You should be prepared to travel after your initial training has been completed in the workshop environment.

Your duties will include:

• Assembly and testing of hydraulic powerpacks and associated equipment to pre-determined design and standards.
• Hydraulic hose making, pump and actuator assembly, testing, repair, and troubleshooting.
• Use of milling and turning equipment.
• Use of CAD drawings.
• Use of various tools and equipment.
• Use of maths and data in engineering.
• Use learned knowledge to produce and maintain technical documentation as required.

The training you will be getting

For this apprenticeship, you will be following the Engineering Technician standard along the Technical Support pathway. Delivery method and location of training to be confirmed. Qualifications include;

• EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence)
• EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Competence) – Technical Support
• EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge)
