Role Overview:

As a Cover Supervisor in Portsmouth, you'll play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education in the absence of teachers. You'll supervise classes and ensure that students engage in meaningful learning activities, adhering to the school's policies and procedures. Key Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:

* Supervise classes during teacher absences, following pre-set lesson plans and ensuring student engagement.
* Manage student behaviour and maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
* Support students' academic progress and offer guidance and feedback when necessary
* Collaborate with other teaching staff to ensure seamless delivery of curriculum and support individual student needs
* Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student performance and behaviour

Role requirements:

* A genuine passion for education and supporting the learning journey of secondary school students.
* A degree
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
* Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment.
* A positive and proactive approach to problem solving.
* Experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
* Able to commute to Portsmouth and the surrounding areas.
