Production Planner

Derbyshire

Basic salary circa £35k based on experience.

Company Incentive scheme.

Salary Sacrifice Pension Plan with 7.5% employer contributions and a death in service policy.

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Production Planner. Working on L3-4 Bespoke Industrial Products, the position would suit an applicant with a methodical approach to planning and organisation, preferably in a manufacturing environment, possessing a keen eye for detail. Candidates should be capable of working in a team environment with minimal supervision, displaying excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—as well as strong IT proficiency.

Primary Responsibilities

Plan all incoming orders, ensuring production deliveries align with sales within specified timeframes to meet customer delivery requirements.

Develop production schedules for each manufacturing department based on established sequences and lead times.

Ensure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts and promise dates aligned with project and customer requirements.

Track and monitor progress of customer orders through plans, reporting any existing or upcoming problems to production control.

Receive engineering packs and drawings for each project.

Assess the need for in-house manufacturing or subcontracting requirements.

Generate reports, maintain Gantt charts, manage project paperwork including order amendments.

Input data into business systems and manage parts requirements per project.

Attend meetings as required in the role of production planner, inclusive of contract acceptance meetings, design reviews, and contract closure meetings.

Key Skills and Qualifications

Likely educated to Degree level or equivalent.

Proficient in reading engineering drawings.

Experience in a busy manufacturing environment.

Production planning experience in a related or similar industry.

PC literacy and an understanding of MRP systems - Mapics/InforXA preferred but not essential.

Proficient in MS Project within MS Office.

Strong understanding of business operations and manufacturing processes.

Excellent organisational skills.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

What We Can Offer You

Salary dependent on experience and qualifications.

37.50 Hours per week, Mon-Thurs 8.00 – 4.45 pm, Friday 8.00 -12.30 pm.
