Band 7 Highly Specialist Respiratory Physiologist

Applications are invited for a highly motivated Respiratory Physiologist to join the Respiratory Department at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. The successful candidates will work at Croydon University Hospital, Purley War Memorial Hospital and Norbury Health Centre on a rotational basis.
With the opening of a new Croydon Community Diagnostic Centre based at Purley Hospital in October 2023 and a respiratory diagnostic hub at Norbury Health Centre in July 2024, the team of Respiratory Physiologists is being increased.
We are a very busy department providing a wide range of investigations working closely with the Respiratory Consultants, Specialist Nurses and Croydon Respiratory and Integrated Cardiac Rehab Team.
This post provides an exciting opportunity an enthusiastic experienced Respiratory Physiologist to join our team and help deliver a high quality service for our patient population.
The successful applicant will have BSc. Clinical Physiology, HNC MPPM or equivalent.
To provide clinical expertise, leadership and staff training for the delivery of the lung function testing service for Croydon Health Services NHS Trust. This will include performing a range of diagnostic procedures, obtaining technically acceptable measurements and producing interpretation and a report where necessary. To be responsible for calibration and maintenance of the equipment and to work within established policies, guidelines and RCCP codes of practice for lung function testing. The responsibilities of B7 Respiratory Physiologists will be shared between two areas 1. Managing service provision/ operational matters and 2. Training/ quality assurance within the respiratory diagnostic service. The post holders will report to the Principle Clinical Physiologist in Cardiology.
