POST: ROOFER GRADE: Trade band 1 - 3 RESPONSIBLE TO: CO-ORDINATOR MAIN OBJECTIVES OF THE POST 1. Carrying out roofing work identified on job ticket to an agreed standard ensuring any associated work is completed or reported back to manager. 2. To undertake the basic duties and responsibilities of the post within a framework, which upholds and furthers our Equal Opportunities Policies and delivers effective and appropriate services fairly and without discrimination. 3. Carrying out roof inspections, recording and documenting findings and offering appropriate solutions. 4. Erect, use and dismantle access equipment i.e.. Steps, ladders, platforms, access towers etc. 5. Material installation including profiled translucent sheet, tiles, slates, ridges, hip tiles, 3 layer felt, torch on felt etc. 6. Prepared to provide an emergency out of hours service on a rota basis (where required). 7. Record and document all work activities and submit information to required timescales. 8. Must follow Health and Safety instructions given by a Co-ordinator. Actively make use of risk assessments system. 9. To be responsible for undertaking weekly vehicle checks and reporting defects to the Co-ordinator/manager. 10. Any other duties as deemed necessary by Senior staff. PERSON SPECIFICATION 1. Ability to build good relations with Client Officers and customers. 2. To be able to deal with customers in a professional, friendly and considerate manner. 3. Ability to manage personal workload and cope with a variety of tasks. 4. Must be able to use initiative to assess situations and decide on appropriate action. 5. Must have a responsible attitude and show genuine concern for all works carried out. 6. Ability to work to a high standard of quality and efficiency motivated by performance related payment scheme. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Hold an NVQ level 3, relevant City and Guilds certificate or equivalent. 2. Minimum of 3 years experience is essential. 3. Hold a full clean driving licence.
