Job description

Veritas are currently working with a secondary school in Greenwich looking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). This would be a good opportunity for an experienced learning support assistant to develop their understanding of teaching and learning in the classroom.

Duties as a HLTA would include:

• Supporting individuals and small groups.
• Providing cover to whole classes where required.
• Providing support as a tutor.
• Supporting pupils with SEND and/or EAL.
• Assisting with faculty events and systems.

Person specification for a HLTA:

• Level 3 qualfiied TA.
• GCSEs in English & Mathematics.
• A-Levels in relevant subject areas.
• To be committed to helping pupils reach their full potential, including pupils with SEND and/or EAL.
• Basic knowledge of the practice of Inclusion.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
