Job description
Carbon 60 is looking to recruit a Mechanical Technician for its leading public service clients based in Swindon
The hours are 37.5 hours per week, rotating shifts of 7.00am to 3.30pm and 10.30am to 7.00pm Monday to Friday. There is an on call rota that operates weekly and you would be expected to cover this once every 4 weeks
Pay rate is £15ph PAYE with an on call standby of £160pw and paid at 1.5x when called out. Minimum call out of 2 hours pay.
This contract will last a minimum of 4 months with the probability of this becoming a permanent position
Job Role
This role is designed to provide safe and efficient maintenance of the mechanical services and equipment on site
Key Accountabilities
- To carry out reactive repairs, fault finding, servicing commissioning and maintenance to a wide range of Services, Plant and Equipment such as Boiler systems /AHU / Chiller Plants
- Provide detailed impact assessments and risks for significant shutdowns
- Plan and schedule major interruptions, maintenance activities, co-ordinate work of contractors
- Analysis and diagnosis of faults in complex, multi-faceted equipment
- To carry out Planned Preventive Maintenance to a wide range of Plant and Equipment.
- Be prepared to train and develop Apprentices and Trainees
- To be prepared to attend work or work beyond expected finishing time in exceptional circumstances, as requested by Supervisors or Managers
- Communicate to Supervisors or Managers any faults or defects
- To attend on-site and off-site training as required
- Be prepared to take on Authorised Person Duties which could include but not limited to Pressure systems, Legionella RP, Ventilation, Medical Gas (All training will be provided)
Qualifications required
- Certificate of Higher education
- Level 3 Certificate/Diploma/Certificate
- Level 3 NVQ
- BOAS Trained
- L8 Training
- Member of appropriate technical body
- HTM 02 Medical Gas Training
- HTM 03 Ventilation Training
- HTM 04 Water hygiene Training
- Proven experience of working in a similar environment
- Knowledge and understanding of Mechanical Building Services
