Job description

An amazing new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Positive Behaviour Practitioner to work in an exceptional residential care service based in the Colchester, Essex area. You will travel out to three other services in Essex, Enfield, and the Stevenage area.

This is specialist residential care in a community setting for adults who have learning disabilities, autism, mental health issues, Prada Willi Syndrome, behaviors that challenge and associated health issues

**To be considered for this position you must Hold a formal qualification in: or Positive Behaviour Support i.e. BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies, PBS Graduate Diploma, PBS BTEC Level 5 (advanced professional Diploma)**

As the Positive Behaviour Practitioner your key responsibilities include:
• Work collaboratively with internal and external professionals (e.g., Psychology, Psychiatry, ICB, IST/ICATT, CPN, OT, RC, Social Worker, MAYBO Team, Mental Health Lead, Challenging Behaviour Foundation, National Autistic Society) to promote the rights of service users
• In partnership with the leadership team and Support Workers, generate Positive Behaviour Support Plans for service users and ensure the ongoing review of the appropriateness to their needs
• Assist in the assessments and transition for any potential service users using appropriate Company documentation
• Develop, with our operational colleagues, innovative and person-centred services based on the ethos of Positive Behaviour Support
• Work alongside other organisational functions for the benefit of those in receipt of support
• Promote and input into the development of a reflective organisational culture that learns from experience and draws on this learning to improve outcomes for service users
• Recognise difficulties in others and work with them to identify solutions and develop appropriate strategies

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:
• Be qualified or willing and able to work towards Instructor Level of PROACT SCIP ®-UK
• Understand legal frameworks relevant to the role, e.g. Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS
• Demonstrate the ability to complete behaviour assessment tools and write reports relating to behaviour to a high standard
• A history of direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and Challenging Behaviour
• Ability to conduct assessment and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with Challenging Behaviours
• Development and delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training

The successful Positive Behaviour Practitioner will receive an excellent salary of £30,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
