Job Title: Process Safety Technical Specialist
Location: Alloa, Scotland
Contract Duration: 6 months
We are seeking a skilled Process Safety Technical Specialist to join our team in Alloa on a 6-month contract. As a Process Safety Technical Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in implementing a process safety within design programme across Maturation, ensuring full alignment with category, geographic, and Global policies. Your responsibilities will include determining best practices for Process Safety within the Maturation footprint, owning the 10-year Improvement Plan, and holding Operations Managers accountable for their performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a process safety within design programme across Maturation, aligning with category, geographic, and Global policies.
- Determine best practices for Process Safety within the Maturation footprint.
- Own the 10-year Improvement Plan and hold Operations Managers accountable for their performance.
- Support operational teams on sites to deliver Improvement Programmes.
- Leverage new technologies to continuously drive process safety improvements and achieve business unit goals.
- Plan and develop performance standards, frameworks, and capabilities to meet scorecard targets, aligned with Diageo's Strategy.
- Oversee controls to assure compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements, as well as good business practices.
- Act as the gatekeeper for quality control on process safety hazard analysis methodologies such as HAZOP, Process Risk Assessments (PRA), and process safety elements of management of change (MOC).
- Mitigate technical risks through support of projects to drive the best outcome for Diageo.
- Ensure engineering design modifications at a site level are in line with category, geographic, and Global process safety standards.
- Work closely with the Process Safety Risk Manager to support and influence protocols and standards.
- Act as the gatekeeper for the technical element within the process safety capability documentation.
- Serve as a competency assessor for the Process Safety technical capability programme within Malt Distilling.
