About the Role

Goldington Avenue Surgery has an exciting opportunity for a practice manager to join our thriving and highly respected surgery in Bedford.

• A practice manager or a business manager with NHS experience who is ready to take on a new role within a successful practice?
• A business, operations or HR manager with or without NHS experience (or anyone else with the right skills, attitude and experience!) wanting to take the next step in their career?

Our new practice manager will beresponsible for providing leadership throughout the practice and overseeing day-to-day and longer-term strategic management of the practice.

About the Candidate

We welcome applications from both experienced practice managers and people who have never worked in the NHS but have a willingness to learn and transferable skills. If you share our values and commitment, we will provide full support as you develop in the role.

We are looking for someone with the following skills, attitudes and experience:

• Experience of managing a team, with a supportive empathic and hands-on approach which facilitates and encourages the development of everyone.
• Experience of HR, finance, strategic and operational business management or quality management – ideally all of these.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Self-motivated, shows initiative, prioritises effectively, takes responsibility for their own. development and acts as a role-model for others.
• Embraces and enjoys change and challenges – able to think outside the box and see opportunities.
• Delegates appropriately whilst maintaining oversight and can see both the bigger picture and pay attention to detail where needed, without micro-managing.
• Confident and competent with IT.
• Able to represent the practice effectively, build external relationships and work collaboratively with key stakeholders.
