The purpose of this role is to execute J.P.Morgan’s employer requirement to carry out Right to Work verifications for all employees based in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, including the UK, both at the new hire stage as well as ongoing visa expiry tracking and renewal.
As an Immigration Right to Work Analyst within the Corporate Employee Digital & Service Experience Team, you will be responsible for managing all operational aspects of the employment life-cycle for J.P. Morgan employees, under the supervision of the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Right to Work team. Your role will involve close collaboration with the firm's external immigration consultants and providing support to local offices and in-country Human Resources teams across the EMEA region. You will ensure continuous compliance with local government regulations throughout the employee life-cycle, including the administration of Right To Work verifications for all employees based in the EMEA and UK, both at the new hire stage and during ongoing visa tracking. You will also closely monitor any reportable job changes during the employee life-cycle, such as job changes and transfers. This role requires confidence in an employee-facing role and a strong attention to detail.
Job responsibilities
- Partners closely and builds strong relationships with our external immigration consultants as well as other key internal stake holder teams (Graduate team, Onboarding, recruitment and local HR contacts)
- Takes ownership for your part in delivering on the team’s remit to validate all new hires have evidenced compliance prior to employment start date, liaising with recruitment and onboarding teams to ensure start dates are ‘pushed back’ where right to work verification is pending (e.g. visa application in progress)
- Facilitates timely capture of visa data into core systems and reconciles to the Firm’s immigration consultants
- Processes standard immigration reference letters and review draft certificate of sponsorship documents
- Generates reporting to monitor job data changes for firm-sponsored visa holders and report those changes as required by each locations regulations, within the regulatory deadlines
- Tracks the portfolio of employees holding a work permit or visa, for expiries and participates in the renewals process ensuring that end-to-end controls are adhered to avoiding visa expiration and resulting illegal employment
- Supports employee and Manager queries timely via the Firm’s query management system ServiceNow as well as the team mailbox
- Ensures all Standard Operating Procedures are updated ongoing
- Assists in delivering key reporting, KPI’s and service effectiveness reporting indicators.
- Participates in adhoc project work as required incl. automation initiatives
- Participates in daily monitoring of the team mailbox, responding to queries from both employees, their Managers and other internal stakeholder teams
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Good data manipulation skills using Microsoft Excel is essential (VLookUp)
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- A commitment to maintaining an ongoing proficient understanding of EMEA immigration regulations relevant to Right To Work employer requirements in partnership with our external Immigration Consultant
- Strong team player with ability to integrate and add value quickly
- Good analytical, technical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to confidently interact with internal clients at all levels of the organisation
- Must be able to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills
- Knowledge of employer Immigration regulations an advantage but not essential if willing to commit to learning and upskilling quickly to SME level
